The SSD120-35C-RS232 are all solid-state Altitude Encoders. These devices provide a rugged and reliable means of measuring air pressure and converting this measurement into the ICAO parallel data as set forth in the International Standard for Pressure Altitude Transmission. In accordance with U.S. National Standards for Common System Component Characteristics for the I.F.F. Mark X (SIF)/Air Traffic Control Radar Beacon System SIF/ATCRBS.
These units also provide altitude data on two asynchronous RS232 outputs. The serial data protocol is commonly used to provide pressure altitude data to ADS-B, GPS, Auto-Pilots, Transponders and other navigation devices. Six (6) serial data protocols are available. The data protocol is selected through internal shunts or via software set-up.
Resolution of the serial altitude data may be set to 100 feet or 10 feet through internal shunts.
