The newly developed and certified Mode-S KTX2 aircraft transponder is light, compact and suitable for ADS-B, has low power consumption, an integrated height encoder and a high-quality TFT colour display. As a Class 1 transponder with an operating range of up to 30,000 ft and 250 kt, it is ideal for GA aircrafts and gliders, UL and experimental aircraft, as well as balloons.
As a surveillance radar, the KTX2 transponder code offers the highest possible flight safety for the pilot because it does not only transmit the Squawk and flight level, but also a 24-bit identifier which is uniquely assigned to each aircraft. In addition, the air traffic control unit can specifically interrogate certain transponders and is able to request the altitude information, speed and flight direction. The KTX2 does, hence, contribute significantly to flight safety.
