The VP-12 is a two-seater utility airplane, specially designed for multipurpose missions: pilot initial training, amateur adventure flights, soaring in sky, glider towing mission etc.
The VP-12 is a new generation airplane, fully made from composite materials and combining features of the conventional aircraft, aerobatic and glider. The VP-12 is a flight vehicle with optimized flying characteristics and low operating costs, which can be used as a high-speed aircraft for long-haul flights, aerobatic aircraft or motor glider for soaring.
At the customer's request, an aircraft can be built in several categories according to the CS-22 rules as a motor glider, according to CS – LSA as a light sport aircraft and according to LTF – UL - 2019 as an ultra-light aircraft.
The main feature of the VP-12 aircraft is the wing with very high aspect ratio (16 – like at the soaring glider), which generate very high lift-drag ratio (about 17)! This factor allows to use the VP-12 aircraft as a motor glider according to the CS-22 category with possibility of using an electric power plant especially. High lift-drag ratio of the aircraft generally contribute to high cruising speed, long range and low fuel consumption and therefore low operating costs, eventually, and of course, significantly increases the safety of the flight in case of engine failure and crucially enhances the chance of the crew for survival.
The aircraft has a conventional low-wing scheme with T-shaped tail unit and is equipped by adjustable in flight tractor propeller and non retractable tricycle landing gear with a steerable nose wheel. (The tail wheel scheme is available optionally)
