Inspired by the Australian Army’s requirement for a back-packable ISR RPAS, in common with other forces around the world, Silvertone self-funded the development of a totally sovereign Australian solution.
From drawing-board to working system with air-frame, autopilot, gimbal and GCS , a soldier-centric system which reduces the cognitive load from the soldier and allows them to concentrate on their ISR task rather than flying the plane.
Designed with a tool-less assembly and field-maintainable Swap-In/Swap-Out philosophy. A novel approach to VTOL landing aims to increase the window of operation available due to wind.
The gimbal and integration is at TRL6, while the air-frame and autonomous Flight Controller is at TRL7.
Up to 60 minutes endurance and <2.5kg weight design specifications were central to the solution development.
Standard GCS and radios or secure mesh radio and LTE options are available.
The all-Australian design and build basis reduces the reliance on overseas capabilities to operate, support and continue development of this platform.
