Vista Threshold – it is an elevated airfield light, frangible led light used to mark the threshold area of the runway of non-precision or non-instrument VFR airports. VISTA Threshold design has been done in such a way as to provide maximum safety. It is a reliable and flexible product, being easy to fit into any kind of infrastructure. The solid blend of top quality poly-carbonate and aluminium make the VISTA lights suitable for use in any kind of conditions, at temperatures ranging between -50°C to +55°C. All the light fixtures are IP66 certified. Purpose At an airport, the threshold is marked to identify the beginning of the runway that is available for landing. The marking is done using paint but also with threshold lights. Threshold lights are unidirectional GREEN lights mounted at the beginning of the runway. A minimum of six lights are used equally spaced in a line. If the threshold is displaced the threshold lights are placed on the side of the runway in two lines of 5 lights. Vista Photometric Specifications VISTA Threshold system is offering photometric performances matching 10 or 30% of the ICAO requirements for High Intensity Lighting (equivalent to Brightness steps 1, 2, 3, and 4 of standard, High-Intensity CCR), corresponding to over 90% of the practical requests in terms of lighting, at a fraction of the cost. We use OSRAM LEDs and specially designed lenses for the best optical performance. As an option, we can add IR LEDs for NVG.
