The Under Cowl Access Steps (UCAS) has been designed for hangar use with variable height access (2.2-3.2m) in and around wide body aircraft engines for easy safe access for oiling or fan cowls access.
Designed for hangar requirements with high stability chassis incorporating heavy duty wheel front axle and twin rear wheel swivel castor provides close manoeuvrability in and around planes. Rear over centre lever action jacks, incorporating full platform edge & railing “soft” protective padding.
The lightweight aluminium construction provides ease of manoeuvring with slip resistant, self-draining tread for stairs and platform.
The variable height platform system incorporates a dog rack and lock safety system which is sprung loaded ensuring each incremental increase 50mm (2inch) in height is locked out, with an easy wind cable on a drum height raise from 2,200-3,200mm.
Front platform with half height folding side railings for safe and easy engine access, with opening front gates (3 lock positions) provides a multiple use safe working platform providing safe access to engines, wing & passenger doors. Safe working height mid platform 800mm provides easy access to engine nacelle for blade inspection.
