We said our innovative glide bollard HVM system was a game-changer when we launched it last year and now we’ve gone one better – by launching a new version that is embedded just 130mm into the ground. To put this into context, that’s less than the length of an average pencil and is one of the shallowest installations that we have ever done in our quest to develop a new generation of cost-effective, easy-to-fit and flexible HVM security barrier systems. We’re calling this new product the Glide Bollard Nano and its launch opens up whole new possibilities for siting access control systems in towns and cities, because its extreme shallowness requires minimal excavation in order to put it into place. This means that not only can it be installed within a short time frame, it is also less likely to prove to be a disturbance to existing underground utilities. Apart from that, it boasts all of the advantages of our original Glide Bollard HVM system in that it comprises of a series of moveable steel bollards fitted onto a rail embedded into the surface of a road or drive entrance. This allows bollards to be slid aside in order to let vehicles through and then returned to their original positions, with users using a special key to unlock the bollards and lock them into their new position. For maximum performance, a combination of moveable and fixed bollards is recommended, while all that’s needed for installation is a shallow trench and a layer of standard MOT type 1 sub-base.
