GAS INSULATED SWITCHGEAR
Our Absolute Pressure Switches have been used to monitor sulfur hexafluoride, an extremely stable insulating gas along with other inert gasses and vacuum. The switches in these applications are designed to open or close when the pressure of the gas is too low. It can also be used in combination with a temperature switch to monitor if the density is too low.
Reliable Performance for the Utilities Industry
These switches are widely used in preventing arcing in switchgears for utilities and other electrical applications. If the amount of inert gas falls below a certain level it will no longer prevent arcing and can be hazardous. The switches are used for an early alert to show that the gas has dropped too low and the system needs maintenance.
