The B32i is a forced air cooled, piston ported, 2-stroke industrial engine fitted with a 2kW generator for use in hybrid electric vehicle applications. The integrated forced air cooling system makes it ideal for hovering vehicles where cooling airflow from forward flight is limited or non-existent. While the performance numbers may not seem that impressive at first glance, once the cooling losses (200 Watts at 9,000 rpm) are backed out the BSFC become compelling. The combined packaging, weight, BSFC and ease of vehicle integration make this an ideal candidate for extending the endurance of many existing quad and multi rotor platforms.
