The turboshaft engine PBS TS100 is suitable for light helicopters weighing up to 1,000 kg. The engine offers a power take-off of up to 180 kW. The ECU controls the acceleration and deceleration of the gas generator to maintain a constant output shaft speed. The ECU also provides subsequent automatic cooling of hot components after the engine stops. Turboshaft engine can be controlled by an analogue interface (control voltage) or digital interface (based on CAN Aerospace V1.7 protocol). The engine parameters for a multi-function cockpit display are only available in digital format. Two engine versions are available: PBS TS100ZA 5,978 RPM with or PBS TS100DA with 2,158 RPM (output shaft speed).
