An aircraft taxiing or a vehicle operating on the taxiway must stop and hold at all stoplights. These are unidirectional lights and placed in a row evenly spaced across the taxiway in a straight angle to the centerline. All holding areas for a runway must be equipped with inset stop lights when the runway is intended to be used during a visibility of less than 550 metres. The Inset Taxiway Stop Bar Light is unidirectional and protrudes 6.35 mm above the ground. Complies with standards for ICAO and NATO:STANAG 3316.
