The system moves the baggage from the check-in to the belts servicing the flights, at which point a very physical and demanding job needs to be done. A worker handles over 16 t per shift loading baggage onto planes. The automated baggage loader takes care of this step with an articulated robot. The patented “hand” makes this robot special. It consists of four flat, telescopic elements with a block. The system’s extreme manoeuvrability allows the robot to reach into difficult corners inside the container. This makes for a very efficient use of the space available.
