Aircraft DME DME4950A

The Distance Measuring Equipment, DME 4950A CVL1 is a navigation aid which provides the crew slant range distance information of the aircraft from selected ground station and audio signals which identify the selected ground station. The range in nautical miles indicates the distance of the aircraft from the surface beacon. The DME uses the frequency band 962 MHz to 1213 MHz for reception and transmission. The DME provides range information from selected DME stations Via ARINC 429 serial interface. The design is based on channel selectable Frequency Synthesizer, solid-state Transmitter/ Receiver, High speed 32 bit DSP processor,FPGA and with ARINC 429 interface. The system\\\'s built in test facility and diagnostic features makes it suitable for easy testability and maintainability.
