The RAM 1790 CVL1 is the light weight “State -of-the-art” FMCW Digital Radio altimeter operating in C – Band, and measures the accurate altitude of the aircraft from the terrain being over flown. It employs Digital signal processing techniques, Kalman filtering and Doppler correction algorithm for accurate altitude measurement. The measured altitude and the status of the Radio altimeter is available in ARINC 429 and RS 422 interfaces. The altitude is also available as analog voltage as per ARINC 552A.
