PHYSICAL CONSTRUCTION
Harbour has a long history of providing cost effective solutions to support even the most demanding program requirements.
Databus cable and twinax (such as the MIL-DTL-17 construction M17/176-00002) streamline communication between various electronic components and avionic units in commercial aircraft, military aircraft, and military ground vehicles.
Composite cables were established for minimal insertion loss and superior protection against EMI and RFI. Cables are optimized to meet customers’ electrical requirements taking into consideration FAA, ARINC, military, and industry specifications.
Constructions consist of one pair through five pair configurations with a temperature range from -55°C to +200°C. Typical gauge sizes consist of 22, 24 and 26 AWG, although other gauge sizes are available. A variety of dielectric materials are available including foam and solid extruded FEP, solid/foam composite, and low density PTFE tapes - all configured for superior electrical performance.
ELECTRICAL CHARACTERISTICS
100 Ohm and 150 Ohm impedances are standard. Frequencies typically range from 10 MHz to 1000 MHz, but some cables are for operation up to 2 GHz.
APPLICATIONS
Applications include In-Flight Entertainment, Cabin Management Systems, USB and VGA Multimedia, Standard Definition Video, and HDTV. Other constructions have been configured for high reliability commercial and military applications such as on-board instrumentation and sensing.
