Honeycomb achieves its mechanical stability at a quite compa- ratively low weight because of its special honeycomb structure which is coated with a top layer material. With the 2-flute solid carbide router as shown on the picture it is possible to cut the top layer and the honeycomb structure with high surface quality. To avoid a softening or lubricating of the resin bonding, the working temperature must be supervised – advantageously by air cooling with extraction.
