The Open Air
The Wallaby is a two seater three-axis basic aircraft with open cockpit, designed to get more performances in comparison to the traditional basic ultralight aircrafts. The optimised aerodynamic configuration allows short take-off and landing and a very good cruise speed with lower power settings. In the Wallaby, the philosophy of a simple aircraft meets the technology of composite materials. The result of this design is a fun and enjoyable ultralight aircraft that gives the pilot and passenger the complete and pure pleasure of flying in contact with the air, together with excellent visibility, ready and efficient flight controls, optimal control at low speed and operating costs reduced to the minimum. The New Wallaby uses the Storch Cl wing, with laminar airfoil sections and full span Junkers type ailerons. The fuselage is made by fiberglass with a tail boom aluminum alloy pipe. Mobile surfaces are made entirely in composite materials to guarantee lightness and structural rigidity. Stabilator integrate a pitch trim mechanically controlled from the cockpit. Landing gear is a fixed tricycle. Main gear has a drum brake system activated by one lever positioned on the cloche. The front landing gear is steerable. The engine is the well-known liquid cooled Rotax 582 ul. Wallaby has analog flight and engine instruments. It can be equipped with a balistic parachute and a folding wings mechanism system.
