The Hydrant Dispenser is of lightweight constructio
n and is designed to be towed or manoeuvred manuall
y
over short distances at slow speed. It is fitted w
ith a ball type towing coupling and parking brake.
The Dispenser is fitted with a braked rear axle and
a turntable mounted unbraked front axle to which
is
attached the tow bar. The axles are fitted with ind
ependent rubber suspension units and wheels fitted
with
155 x 13 pneumatic tyres.
The Dispenser is equipped to refuel aircraft by bot
h the underwing (pressure) and open line (overwing)
trigger nozzle methods. Flow rates up to 1000 litr
es / minute can be achieved when pressure refuellin
g
with a minimum hydrant system pressure of 80 psi.
Filtration is by means of a filter water separator
or Monitor complying with the latest requirements o
f A.P.I.
for flow rates up to 1200 litres / minute.
Optional water detector for Filter Water Separator
units which automatically closes the deadman valve
if
the water level in the filter sump rises above a pr
e-determined level. Flow can only re-start when the
water
is drained off. A coloured indicator is provided to
confirm if the water detector has been activated.
