Essential traffic safety for drones.
Drones are small and hard to see for manned aircraft. Safely integrating drones into shared airspace is thus a huge challenge. FLARM Aurora is a combined FLARM and Remote ID transmitter in a tiny package, making your drone visible to more than 60,000 manned aircraft. Aurora combines a FLARM and a Wi Fi module for Direct Remote ID.
Aurora can be mounted on a UAV with minimal effort. It requires only one small antenna for the FLARM radio; antennas for Wi-Fi and GPS are fully integrated. Powered through USB-C the system is up and running in less than 5 minutes. Alternatively, power can be supplied on the JST-GH connector with a voltage range of 5 V to 28 V. A mounting clip is shipped with Aurora for quick deployment. A web app is included, compatible with mobile phones or computers. The app allows to easily check the system status, set the configuration, or update the software.
The Direct Remote ID uses the 2.4 GHz (Wi-Fi) band and is compliant with the international ASTM F3411-19 and ASD-STAN prEN 4709-002 standards set forth by many national regulations.
Aurora is particularly well-suited in UAV missions where close encounters between manned aircraft and UAVs are expected. The UAV becomes visible to other FLARM-equipped aircraft such as police or rescue helicopters, thereby preventing unsafe interactions.
