Elektra VTOL is an electric powered vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) drone with a payload capacity up to 2kg. A highly advanced aerodynamic airfoil and an advanced wing design allow for a flight endurance up to 3 hours and covering distances up to 200 kilometers. It is available with solar cells to extend the flight duration by up to 1.5 hours.
Elektra VTOL is highly wind-tolerable. Smart algorithms align the wing optimally with the wind during hover, minimizing the effective sail area and increasing stability. Wind speeds up to 30km/h are acceptable during takeoff and landing.
Elektra VTOL is based on the most simplistic concept to realize VTOL capabilities, using only two motors and two control surfaces. Compared to tilt-rotor-systems, this minimalistic and robust approach reduces complexity and maintenance costs. The lower structural weight allows for a larger flight range and/or higher payload capacity. Elektra VTOL comes with a triple-redundant IMU and a double-redundant RTK-GNSS system that does not only allow for high precision geo-referencing of survey data but also guarantees highly accurate landings within a few centimeters of position tolerance.
Any payload up to 2kg that fits into the large cargo-compartment can be integrated, ranging from high-resolution optical cameras for 3D-mapping to multispectral cameras or gimbal solutions. Elektra Solar GmbH offers a customer-oriented service for integrating your own custom system.
The entire system comes with a sturdy 1.2m x 0.8m x 0.6m aluminum box that can be checked in as bulky luggage with almost any airline.
