Mini PIT System - Compact Underground Hatch System for Efficient Ground Support
The Mini PIT System by ElectroAir is a compact underground hatch PIT system engineered to supply electrical power to aircraft and helicopters during pre-flight operations. Installed beneath the apron or inside hangars, it eliminates above-ground cabling and improves safety and efficiency in busy airport environments.
This counterweight-assisted hatch system features power plugs on the upper surface for 400 Hz AC or 28.5 VDC output. Inside the pit, a distribution box with multiple sockets enables fast connection and usage. Designed for versatility, Mini PIT systems can be integrated with remote control access and configured to include compressed air, water (potable, blue, or waste), or data transmission lines as needed.
Its rugged lid is EN 124 F900-certified to support up to 90 tonnes, with a non-slip surface and spark-resistant materials that ensure safety for aircraft wheels and ground vehicles. The chamber design prevents ingress of rain, dirt, or debris. ElectroAir recommends pairing Mini PIT systems with its mobile or stationary GPUs to create a clean, centralized power delivery solution.
For extra durability, the unit can be installed in either concrete or metal chambers - the former built according to ElectroAir’s specifications. The hatch design prioritizes weatherproofing, tamper-resistance, and long-term maintenance ease.
