The Airlite 2200 is an ATEX approved, durable, below deck noise attenuating headset. Light weight and constructed in ABS, this headset is used in machine space environments onboard ASTUTE submarines. Build: Electret noise cancelling microphone. Suspended on a steel boom, providing full radial and lateral adjustment. 300 ohm Moving coil earphone. Detachable down lead with in line P.T.T. and integral clothing clip. Plug: 62GB-56T14-19PN(044) 19 pole connector with arctic grip. Cable construction is 10 core stranded copper. Comprising 5 twisted pairs with microphone pair separately screened. As for most naval applications, the cable jacket is manufactured using low smoke, zero halogen material.
