The Surveillance and Navigation Autopilot (SNAP®) is a high-end miniature autopilot with considerable processing power and a versatile, open architecture. Available as an OEM module or in a sealed enclosure, SNAP® Surveillance and Navigation Autopilot (Flight Management System) has flown unmanned missions on platforms as diverse as 500mm electric-powered micro air vehicles, tactical unmanned ISR systems, rotary-wing platforms, lighter-than-air platforms, Coanda-effect 'flying saucers', rocket-launched UAVs weighing in excess of 150kg and unmanned seaplanes. A flexible interface to Matlab Simulink allows for rapid prototyping, tuning and flight testing of bespoke control laws. This enables SNAP® Surveillance and Navigation Autopilot (Flight Management System) equipped vehicles to conduct such diverse tasks as vision-based formation flight, complex surveillance and tracking, automated launch (hand, rail and rocket) and automated landing (skid and parachute). SNAP Surveillance and Navigation Autopilot (Flight Management System) is offered in a variety of specifications to DO254 standards. RS-485 standard will also be offered as an option.
SafePilot™
The SafePilot™ system is based on our highly successful SNAP® vehicle management system and the NEXUS Ground Control Station. SafePilot™ ensures that, prior to a mission, an unmanned vehicle obtains all available cultural information for the area of operation, as well as local policy, from an online database.
