The Theia 16A is a 5 nautical mile infill radar designed for windfarm mitigation. It can detect and locate aircraft and wind turbines to provide a clear and uncluttered picture to Air Traffic Controllers.
HIGH PROBABILITY OF UPDATE
See everything, all of the time and with up-to-date tracking information. The Theia 16A has an update interval configurable to as low as 0.25s so that even very fast moving targets can be accurately tracked.
LOW FALSE TARGET REPORT RATE
Theia minimises the reporting of false tracks by being able to distinguish between ground / sea clutter and airborne targets.
RELIABLE
Theia is unaffected by windfarms, unaffected by weather and, with no moving parts, minimally affected by the need for maintenance.
Theia 16A is a staring radar which provides an uncluttered picture of the airspace in 3D – even in the presence of windfarms. It covers a range of 5 nautical miles and can be sited on or near windfarms which impact the coverage of Primary Surveillance Radars. Theia can transmit information back to remote Air Traffic Controllers with a standard Asterix Cat 34/48 output allowing for easy integration with other systems such as primary radar.
With an update interval as low as 0.25 seconds, 3D tracking and classification information, Theia is able to provide air traffic controllers with reliable information on not just precisely where targets are, but what they are.
