AIRCRAFT PLASTICS
Atlas skylights and Aviation Acrylics have a long association with the aircraft industry going back to the early 1950’s. With our first contact working on the British V bomber program at Vickers Armstrong in Weybridge, England and the Hawker Aircraft Company’s first jet fighter the Sea Hawk at Kingston on the Thames near London, produced for the British Royal Navy.
Since those early day’s we have produced parts for many light aircraft including ultra light and many vintage civil and military types.
We specialize in forming canopies and windows in Acrylic, Polycarbonate and PETG
In thicknesses from 1.5 mm to 10 mm. and as far as we know we are the only company to have produced over 1100 large panels in 4 mm Stretched Acrylic in Australia.
Special projects sometimes require unusual methods of manufacture and we pride ourselves on being able to meet most challenges due to our in-depth knowledge and understanding of the behaviour of plastic materials.
At this time all the Frigates in the Royal Australian Navy are using large polycarbonate moulding’s that we have supplied, to help protect their Helicopter retrieval systems.
