Watupá: a small UAS with a twist...
After six years in production, the new Watupá UAS 2018 reaches an almost perfect combination of payload capacity, flight stability and endurance for large-area SUAS operations.
This new version has the sturdiness and reliability of our former fuel-engined Watupá, now with an electric power plant, as used byour (now deprecated) ergonomic Hewë an Siemari electric flying wings. Hewë was an excellent product for small-size operations, and Watupá was a sturdy entry-level UAS. The new Watupá sinthesises all of them in a new concept.
After two years of design improvements and tests, even working with a new tractor engined flying wing, code-named 'Flying Toad', and several fixed wing Watupá fuel-engined variants, we arrived to this new design, offering sturdiness, easy to use, long endurance, precise flight with very high transversal wind resilience, at a low cost of operation.
This SUAS with power-glider-looks, achieves its high aerodynamic efficiency and endurance through its high aspect ratio wing concept and a V-tail configuration.
This new Watupá addresses requests from customers and partners (mostly) from South America and Africa, using SUAS (from different shapes and vendors) for a solution to fly over large areas in one single flight (thousands of hectares, not just simple orchards) with the easiness of an electric foam flying wing.
